You should not get a second authentication request when switching to payback or reports.
You will need to re authenticate when your session expires or when your IP changes, this is by design.

If you are still presented with authentication requests that look like a dialog (rather than like a webpage) then you might need to get rid of your "basic authentication" session state. Just restart your browser once to do that.

Before Sep 29, 2008

Due to security reasons, all external content is presented on a separate sub-domain. This includes your cached pages, the playback screen and the heatmap reports. As a result you might be requested to authenticate a second time.

When you are asked for your username and password check that the domain that requests the authentication is http://www.clicktale.net or dmz01.clicktale.net . Let us know if something irregular happens.

Once you authenticate on both domains ClickTale will not ask you for your username and password again. If you instruct your browser to "remember you" then you will not be asked on your future sessions as well.
