How to enable or disable a specific visitor (such as yourself) from being recorded on your domain.
1) This topic will help you to avoid recording yourself for the purpose of saving credits and reducing irrelevant information.
2) This topic will also help you test ClickTale by forcing yourself to be recorded so you can see some results faster, without waiting for visitor to pass the "Recording threshold."
If your site is http://www.domain.yyy/ and ClickTale is installed on your site then:
To enable a machine or force recording, visit:
you should get a debug window with a note mentioning that the script is "preparing for stage 2" and "starting to record".
To disable a machine, visit:
you should get a debug window with a warning that "the current machine/user is disabled for recording".
The above calls will set a persistent cookie to keep track of your selection. You will be recorded or not recorded for as long as the cookie is in place (subject to recording quota). To check your status, visit:
and see the messages in the debug window.
If you don't get a debug window when adding the special parameters then you are either running an old version of the recording script or you have ClickTale inserted incorrectly into your site. SSL installations require uploading the js file to your server, make sure you have done that. Try to generate the recording code again and if that doesn't help, please request help in the forum.
Note that if your domain is not checked in "Domain Management" page in your account, then the recording will be blocked even though the status window will report that recording has started.

|Post subject:||PHP Control Script|
Recently we have added a PHP script that can help you block or allow recording of visitors by IP (and other parameters). You put this script on your server and link it to your recording code. Then you can configure IP ranges to block in an easy to use configuration file.
