Post subject:  PHP Integration Module

Dear Users,

In this post I'll introduce the PHP Integration module which should bring the integration module solution available in ASP.NET to the PHP world.

What is this module?
The module is for sites using dynamic content which changes for each user independently. For example, shopping carts are often such pages.
It will allow you to store the exact version that the user saw and allow our fetching bot to collect that version so it will be available to you in the playback of visitors visits and other reports.
The PHP Integration Module is the next generation of the PHP Integration Code and adds further support to cases that were not previously covered, such as POST processing pages.

Downloading the package
The package is located at:
http://www.clicktale.com/integration/Cl ... latest.zip

Installation and configuration
There is a public installation document at:
http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=dh2d2c ... 4dfg&hl=en
Is is also available as a pdf in the package itself.

If you need help use this thread or email phpm...@clicktale.com for support. Make sure to include your ClickTale username and site URL when contacting us about the module.

Regards,
ClickTale Team.

Can you explain when and why this is needed? Providing a few examples? Please be as non-technical as possible.

Hi,

In the default mode of operation, the content of the page is not captured by the tracking script. The tracking script only captures the actions for the user. To capture the content, our servers will "crawl" your site for the pages. This is similar to how search engines crawl your site. Sometimes we refer to this process as "caching".
Some pages are not available for crawling or when crawled return different content than one that is seen by the visitor. This often true for shopping cart pages, checkout pages and pages that are behind a login.
To support those pages you need to use of of our integration modules. The modules works on your server side and assists our server to capture the content correctly, even for pages that fail to work with the regular crawling.

Regards,
Arik.

Which PHP version does it support?

I am using 5.1.6 but see that this is not supported.

In the code I see this module is for PHP version >= 5.2.1

Is there a version compatible with PHP Version 5.1.6?

Hi Kana,

The module should work with version prior to 5.2.1 as we introduced a compatibility layer.
If you have any issues integrating with this version we will try to widen our compatibility support.

Tal.
