Jeff Hi,

Please go here for instructions on how to place html code on your store page. You can use those to place the ClickTale tracking code.
If you experience any further problems please let me know.

I am having trouble placing the code. The instructions say to place one snippet after the <body> tag and another before the </body> tag. The article at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/smallb ... ar-02.html only shows how to get it into the <head> area, not the <body> and </body> sections. How can I get it where it needs to be at both ends of the HTML code? Can I put both snippets in the same place? How does one do it in Store Editor?

Thanks!
JD

Hi,

Please try to use the "Final-text" variable of your store template to add the bottom part of the tracking code, and the "Head-tags" variable to add the top part of the tracking code.
More details about these variables can be found here:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/smallb ... final-text

Regards,
Arik.

Go to your Variables and try either "Final Text" or "Copyright" variable. Depends on what version you are running. Simply paste the bottom code into one of those. The top code goes into the head tags variable.

Note, if you had any custom RTML done, such as a custom footer or header, you may need to use those fields instead.

Does anybody know what variable I can edit so that I can add code to the Yahoo checkout pages of the store?
Pages like: https://order.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bin/w ... xxxxxxxxxx , etc?

Regards,
Arik.

Below are instructions of implementing ClickTale in the cart and checkout pages of Yahoo Merchant store. This implementation uses the "FetchFromWithCookies" method for cookie capturing.

Notes: Visitors who go through the entire process will be broken to 2 or 3 separate visitors in the system. This is due to the way Yahoo uses several domains in the checkout process.
Notes: This works best if you record 100% of your visitors otherwise you may record a visitor in one domain of the process and not in another.
Notes: You need a ClickTale account with the SSL option enabled. This normally requires a paid plan.

  1. Generate your tracking code while specifying to enable the SSL checkbox. Have both top and bottom part available. Save the WRb.js file to you local computer.
  2. Go to Yahoo Store Manager > Store Editor > Files > Upload the WRb.js file you had been given at code generation. Keep the same file name and note the path that Yahoo generates for you. For example: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-xxx ... xxx/WRb.js
  3. Similarly download the file FetchFromWithCookies.js from: http://s.clicktale.net/FetchFromWithCookies.js and upload it your Yahoo store. Keep the same file name and note the path that Yahoo generates for you.
  4. Go to Yahoo Store Manager > Checkout Manager > Global Settings > Checkout Wrapper > Checkout Regions
  5. Add the ClickTale tracking code top part in the "Top Navigation" field
  6. In the "Footer" field add the following code:
    Code:
    <!-- ClickTale Bottom part -->
    <div id="ClickTaleDiv" style="display: none;"></div>
    <script src="/WRb.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="/FetchFromWithCookies.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    FetchFromWithCookies.setFromCookie("ysco_key_shopping_cart_cookie");
    FetchFromWithCookies.setFromCookie("ysco_key_session_cookie");
    FetchFromWithCookies.setFromCookie("ysco_key_browser_session_cookie");
    ClickTaleFetchFrom = FetchFromWithCookies.constructFetchFromUrl();
    ClickTaleEventsMask-=4;
    var ClickTaleSSL=1;
    if(typeof ClickTale=='function') ClickTale([!YOUR PARAMETERS!]);
    </script>
    <!-- ClickTale end of Bottom part -->

  7. Modify the ClickTale tracking code bottom part in the "Footer" field in the following ways:

    1) Change the first script url from "/WRb.js" to "https://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/WRb.js". Note the change to https so it points to the url you had been given in the file upload stage.
    2) Similarly, change the second script url from "FetchFromWithCookies.js" to the path given by yahoo for the uploaded FetchFromWithCookies.js file. Again http should be changed to https.
    3) Replace [!YOUR PARAMETERS!] with the parameters as they appear in the bottom part of the tracking code your generated in your account.

  8. Try to add something to your cart and go a few steps deep in the checkout process to see if you are able to make recordings.

If you can't make recordings, check that yahoo domains such as order.store.yahoo.net, us-dc1-order.store.yahoo.net and us-dc2-order.store.yahoo.net are checked for recording.

If you have any questions or need help please open a ticket by using the "Customer Support" link in the account. Please provide your store address as well as the username and password for your ClickTale account so we can help.

Regards,
Arik.
