Offline pages refers to pages which are not accessible using an internet connection from outside of your organization. Pages which merely require user authentication, i.e. a username and password, do not count as offline (see FAQ). Examples of offline pages are intranet pages or pages in a website's development environment.
Normally ClickTale servers access the pages that are recorded in order to capture the content of the page, later to be used with reports and playback. When access is not available, the content can't be captured and playback will fail.
These pages can be recorded using one of the following two methods:
1. You can allow our servers access to your site or to specific pages by white listing the servers' IP range (188.8.131.52/26) and opening network connection form the internet to your machine. This may involve firewall and/or router configuration.
If you are using the PHP or ASP.NET integration modules
then you only need to allow access to the url of the integration module (ClickTaleCache.php and ClickTaleCache.ashx [virtual] respectively)
2. You can use the ClickTaleUploadPage API command. Please note if you switch to online environment (i.e. production) then this command should be removed unless completely necessary:
If you are using one of the integration modules use ClickTaleUploadPage in an offline environment and ClickTaleFetchFrom code line in an online environment.
If you are NOT using one of the integration modules use ClickTaleUploadPage in an offline environment and remove it in an online environment.
